A Celebration of Survival

a(pp w480 h319) A Celebration of Survival 5 years ago as Ms. M was enduring yet another chemo treatment, she stumbled upon the Belle Boudoir website and says that “a dream was born.” She began daydreaming about “glamorous lingerie, smokey eyes, and sexy hair” and was determined to treat herself to a photography session once she was healthy again. Fast forward 8 months later and Ms. M was feeling great and was “ready to dive into the experience.” She felt that “after chemo and surgeries, (she) really needed a reminder that her (and her body) are still beautiful.

Ms. M anticipated having a few nerve racking moments throughout her session but when she didn’t encounter a single one (even when wearing nothing but a sheet) she found herself pleasantly surprised.

When she arrived back home after spending the day at Belle Boudoir, Ms. M gave the 4×6 photo she left with that day to her husband and his jaw immediately hit the floor. He was absolutely speechless which was fantastic since he is typically “very articulate,” according to his wife. Once he was able to speak again, he simply asking how soon he could see the rest of the pictures. Exactly the response she was hoping for.

7 Babies, 2 Maternity Sessions

When Miss A was pregnant with her sixth baby she booked a maternity session with us at Belle Boudoir. Her and her husband cherished the photos from the session so much that she knew it was the perfect way to memorialize her seventh pregnancy. So, at 8 months pregnant with her seventh and final little one, she returned to the Belle Boudoir studio to capture one of the most important times of her life. Saying that we were thrilled to have her back would be an vast understatement.

Thigh-high’s

You know you’ve done it; bought a pair of those super sexy lace topped thigh high’s to try for a night out or a to surprise your significant other during a seemingly spontaneous rendezvous only to spend 30 minutes trying to figure out how to wear them without having “muffin top” of the upper thigh. After struggling with pulling them up higher and higher, posing in different positions and even trying on different shoes with them, you take them off defeated and pull on a pair of your tried and true almost-as-sexy tights. That classically sensual seam up the back will do just the trick, after all.

Well, if you ever want to give those thigh-highs another go, take the advice of photographer Cheryl Jones. She says that most wardrobe items, including those daring thigh-highs are all about placement to make them flatter your figure. While the model on the package of your new stockings may have them pulled up sky high, they look more flattering on most women when you pull them down to mid-thigh. It will eliminate the upper thigh muffin top and still give you that ultra sexy look you were hoping for.

Bangs and Brows

There are two things that I have found are very personal to a woman and play a huge role inhow she feels about her hair and makeup: her bangs and eyebrows. Because both bangs and brows play the role of framing your face, if they are too far off from what you do with them regularly, your appearance takes on a whole new shape. So do not fret – just communicate. With your makeup artist and hair stylist at Belle Boudoir, that is. She will help guide you in the right direction without taking away the special details that make you, well, YOU!

A Very Boudoir Birthday

After 17 years of being single and “kissing a lot of frogs along the way,” 52 year old Ms. C. met the love of her life. Recently, the two not only celebrated 10 years of marriage, but they also celebrated losing 40lbs each! Talk about working (and working out) as a team! So, when her husband asked for boudoir photos for his birthday, Ms. C. simply couldn’t say no. Although she was hesitant, once Ms. C. found Belle Boudoir and looked through the before and after gallery, in addition to reading past clients feedback, she knew it was the right place to book.

Although Ms. C. was doing the photoshoot for her husband, she was determined to enjoy herself, and she did just that. Her first boost of confidence came after Nikoma was finished with her makeup. She said that she “didn’t think (her) eyes could look so beautiful! And Cheryl’s process was so organized and instructional, I didn’t have to think other than to follow her lead. She made it all so easy! (Cheryl) took all of the thinking and anxiety out of the equation. Frankly, it would be difficult NOT to feel at ease in her presence. (Cheryl) is very friendly, funny, down-to-earth and comfortable to be with.”

Seeing the slideshow of her photos after her session was a high point for Ms. C. She was stunned and excited to show her husband her photos. Leaving the studio for the day, she “felt completely liberated at having faced my fears and at being reintroduced to myself as a beautiful sexy woman, in spite off my age.”
