Frequently Asked Questions
What is your specialty?
I photograph a range of genres from modern boudoir to retro pinups to art nudes -- all with an artistic, tasteful, and feminine approach. Getting to know you through a pre-consultation and discussing what you want allows me to bring your vision to life. You can choose to either dive deep into a particular genre throughout your session or we can create a mix of genres — it’s up to you! I will work to create the images you want.
How do I schedule a session?
It’s super easy, you can book a session right now! Choose a date for your session from our calendar and follow the instructions to pay the $200 deposit (which is applied towards your package). You will receive a confirmation email with detailed information about what to expect, how to prepare and directions to our studio. I will also reach out to you to set up a consultation, send you a questionnaire, and answer any questions you have.
Note: Our studio is often booked full 1-2 months out, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to book a session for a future special occasion.
Where do the sessions take place?
Our 2500 square foot studio is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. It was specifically designed for boudoir with an array of sets/backgrounds to match your personal style and create a wide variety of images. We have headboards/beds, several solid and patterned backdrops, a white & a gray seamless wall, original brick walls, a staircase, many full length mirrors, two chandeliers, large windows, several sofas and chairs, and loads of vintage props. We can create everything from beautiful naturally lit photos to dramatic high fashion photos.
The studio also has a bathroom on each floor, a makeup station, coffee and tea, and a separate annex with a large tv and comfortable couches to view your photos.
Can I see the studio before our session?
Yes! Instead of a phone consultation, we can set up a time to meet at the studio for an in-person consultation prior to your session.
Can my friend do a session on the same day?
You and one friend can schedule sessions the same day. The timeline is restructured so that you can enjoy your sessions together while each of you still get everything included in the session and package of your choice. Ask for more info!
How do I prepare for my shoot?
First of all, you can request a copy of our exhaustive preparation guide with over 100 pages of information to help you get ready! Next, we'll hold a phone consultation prior to your session and I'll tell you everything you need to know plus answer any of your questions.
Do you provide hair and makeup?
Yes! Hair and makeup is included with all boudoir sessions and is a necessary part of the boudoir experience. We also include false lashes and hair extensions if you want!
How long does the session last?
The entire day from start to finish will be about 5-6 hours total. Hair and makeup lasts about 1-1.5 hours, the photo shoot itself is 2 hours, and then you get to take a 1 hour break for lunch/coffee while I edit your photos. When you return it takes about 40 minutes - 1 hour to narrow down the photos for the package of your choice. You can check out our what to expect page for more information about the process and day of the session. If you and a friend are doing sessions on the same date, plan on the day lasting about 8 hours total.
Can you get good photos of me?
Of course! The funny thing is, the women in my portfolios probably asked the exact same question before their session! And look at them, each are absolutely stunning.
I’m happy to say that I’ve photographed women into their 70’s and women beyond size 28, most who have never been in front of a pro camera before. I hope by looking at my portfolio that you’ll see beautiful women of all shapes, ages, and sizes.
I don’t know how to pose, will you help?
Absolutely! I give super easy-to-follow instructions and coach you from your facial expression down to the placement of your fingers. I WILL NOT say “look sexy” or “work the camera” or any other vague directions like that.
Can you remove cellulite?
The removal of acne, blemishes, bruises, scratches, stretchmarks, veins and cellulite is part of the retouching process and included in the cost of your package.
Do you provide outfits? Or do I bring mine?
