Eyeshadow for Green Eyes

In previous weeks we have covered brown eyes and blue eyes, but what about those of you with green eyes? What colors of eyeshadow will be the most flattering for you? If you are like me, you are one of the 2% of the worlds population with green eyes. Yes, that’s right, only 2% of us were blessed with this rare color! Below I am going to tell you what colors are best to make your gorgeous green POP on screen.

Green Eyes: Red is opposite of green on the color wheel so anything with a red undertone will make your eyes look more green. Really warm browns, copper, cranberry, etc. And plum shadows with red undertones are thoroughly flattering as well. Keeping your shadows warm and finishing them with jet black mascara will ensure that your eyes stand out, not your makeup.

I feel fabulous and I am fabulous!

There are only a few modern day women that evoke the image and spirit of great starlets like Carole Lombard and Lana Tuner so when one of those women walked through the doors of Belle Boudoir for an Old Hollywood/Pin-up style photoshoot, my jaw hit the floor. This was going to be fun.

Ms. V had never had boudoir pictures taken of herself and although she was a “newbie” she felt “safe, comfortable and taken care of.” This photoshoot was a gift to herself with an added bonus of letting her husband glimpse at them as well. Ms. V always wanted to “get dolled up and transformed in the hands of amazing artists like Cheryl and Nikoma.” One of her favorite parts of her session was being able to take on different characters as she progressed throughout her shoot – from the sultry old hollywood starlet to the playful and sassy pin-up.

When I asked Ms. V what she took away from her session with Belle Boudoir, she answered by saying that “Belle Boudoir has professionalism, a body of work for the ages and understood my vision. Seeing myself and my body through (Cheryl’s) lens has done wonders for my body image, I feel empowered, and more grounded in my own skin. I’ve also noticed that the sass has carried over into my daily outfit choices. I’m taking a little bit of boudoir me to the streets. I feel like I have a secret and a twinkle in my eye. The secret is, “I feel fabulous and I am fabulous!”

What do I think the secret is? I think it is that Ms.V is and has always been fabulous. We simply helped her to recognize it.

The best shadows for blue eyes

Trying to decide what color of eyeshadows you should wear for your boudoir shoot can be a daunting task. Chances are that you have spent so much time figuring out your wardrobe, deciding what shoes should go with which outfit, tweezing, waxing, moisturizing, remembering to drink plenty of water, and (probably) freaking out, that you haven’t even thought about what to do with your makeup. And truthfully, we don’t blame you! Below I am going to break down what are the best eyeshadow colors for blue eyes. With only 8% of the worlds population having blue eyes, we know that you want to make them stand out. By no means do you have to use the below information as a rule that must be followed. But it is a great guideline for those who don’t know where to begin. Remember, when all else fails, TRUST YOUR MAKEUP ARTIST. We will only leave your face in the best of hands.

Blue Eyes: Since orange in opposite on the color wheel from blue, anything with an orange undertone will make your baby blue’s truly POP. I suggest going with bronze, copper, soft peach, and warm nude tones. You can also wear warmer purple and plum colors as these are complimentary to blue eyes but will not give the same intensity as something with an orange undertone.

See myself in a whole new way

As a gift, Ms. A’s daughter gave her the gift of a boudoir session at Belle Boudoir. She was in need of a self confidence boost. She needed to remember that even though she is a grandmother, mother, and wife, she is a beautiful woman first and foremost.

Ms. A arrived at the Belle Boudoir studio and immediately began her transformation through hair and makeup with Nikoma. She had never worn false eyelashes and loved how glamorous they made her look and feel. With a few hair extensions added to her already beautiful red locks, she was ready for her session with Cheryl to begin. Ms. A loved that Cheryl would laugh with her throughout the session and that she was also very encouraging – especially through the more difficult poses. 😉

When her session was over, Ms. A’s husband picked her up and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. She felt beautiful. Her session with Belle Boudoir helped her to “see (herself) as a beautiful woman. When she needs a pick-me-up, Ms. A looks at her pictures to “remind (her) that (she) is beautiful. Both inside and out.”
