How the French maintain their luscious locks

Not only have the French adopted a more laid-back lifestyle than most Americans, they are also more relaxed about washing their hair on a regular basis. Parisian hair legend, Jacques Dessange developed a hair washing method that allows strands to look beautifully tousled for several days between washes. In fact, shampoo sales in france are significantly lower than in America. Sound too good to be true? Give it a try for yourself!

Step 1: Apply a mask to your hair and allow it to penetrate for a few minutes depending on the condition of your hair.

Step 2: Thoroughly rinse out the hair mask

Step 3: Shampoo and rinse (cool water is best to close the hair cuticle)

Step 4: Blow dry style your hair

Your hair should remain shiny, bouncy, and perfectly tousled for 3-7 days before your next shampoo.
