What To Wear: The Bridal Boudoir Session

Boudoir photography is a sexy gift for your groom and a keepsake for yourself.  You may have recently indulged in spa treatments, kicked your butt at boot camps, had a spray tan, and aquired a large collection of lingerie at your bachelorette party — so what are you waiting for?

We’re currently planning our first ever Bridal Boudoir Marathon on May 15th and 16th with ten fabulous soon-to-be-brides.  A beautiful new bed set is in store for the event along with a small collection of bridal accessories.  With brides heavy on my mind, I thought it’d be perfect timing to discuss what to bring to a wedding themed boudoir session. We have a helpful discussion on What To Wear to our regular sessions, but the tips below are specific to brides and even those planning an anniversary gift.

Wear white.  Bring something white such as a vintage slip, a baby doll nightie, or a lacy white teddy.  Complete the look with our strand of real pearls and various hair peices.

Accessorize.  Even though we will have some accessories available, make sure to bring your own wedding day veil, jewelery, shoes, and garter — it will have more significance to that groom of yours!

Go casual.  Check out www.theknot.com or www.etsy.com for casual wedding apparel.   Find a way to custom monogram his name on a pair of white panties or bring a bridal tank top.

Bling.  Don’t forget your engagement ring as it makes a great accessory and focus point for detail shots.

His wardrobe.  Wear something of his such as a button down shirt with tie, a sports jersey, or his uniform.

This is just a part of your overall session, so make sure you also consult with our discussion on  What To Wear to help complete the rest of your sexy book.  Many bridal magazines and blogs have written informative articles about bridal boudoir photography.  I’ve carefully linked some of them below for your enjoyment.
