One of the most common things we hear from clients before their boudoir session is:
“I have no idea how to pose!”
Let us put your mind at ease right now: you don’t need to.
At Belle Boudoir, it’s our job—not yours—to guide you through every single pose, every step of the way. You don’t need modeling experience, and you don’t need to “know your angles.” You just need to show up. We’ll take care of the rest.
Meet Cheryl Jones — Your Expert (and Hype Woman)
Photographer Cheryl Jones has worked with hundreds of women of all shapes, sizes, and comfort levels. She has a trained eye for lighting, posing, and expression, and her superpower is making people feel confident—even if they’ve never been in front of a professional camera before.
Cheryl gives simple, easy-to-follow directions to guide you into flattering and effortless looking positions. She’ll demonstrate poses when needed, offer hands-on adjustments when appropriate, and use language that’s approachable and body-positive.
You will never hear Cheryl say, “Look sexy.”
Because that’s vague, and frankly, not helpful. Instead, you’ll get clear, gentle direction like:
- “Tilt your chin slightly to the right.”
- “Drop your left shoulder and cross your right ankle over your left.”
- “Close your eyes and breathe through your mouth.”
These subtle cues create stunning results—without you ever having to overthink it.
It’s Not About Performing — It’s About Feeling
You’re not expected to “perform” in your session. You’re not playing a part. Instead, this is a space for you to feel something—confident, powerful, relaxed, bold—and we’ll help bring that out of you naturally. Often, the most beautiful images come in the in-between moments: a soft smile, a quiet breath, an unexpected laugh. Cheryl knows how to capture you—not a version of you trying to be someone else.
You’re in Good Hands
From the moment you walk into our studio, everything is designed to make you feel comfortable and supported. We’ll guide your wardrobe choices, walk you through the flow of the shoot, and create a safe space for you to relax and have fun.
So if you’re feeling nervous about posing—know that it’s so normal. But also know: you don’t have to worry. You’re not expected to know what to do. That’s our job, and Cheryl is an expert at making the process feel effortless.
