About the Photographer
Cheryl Jones
I have always had a passion for art. My grade school papers were always cluttered with rough sketches. I studied art in college and traveled to Florence and Paris to study the Renaissance and Impressionism. I spent much of my time oil painting up until I graduated. Fresh from college and looking to broaden my horizons, I purchased my first professional camera - and I was hooked. I ventured into professional photography and I have not looked back. My background in art plays an inseparable role in my photography. I think about the direction of light and shadow, composition, mood and feeling, and so many other fundamental aspects of art as I compose each photograph. I am a mastermind at posing too and have poured over thousands of magazines for inspiration.
I started my professional photography career with wedding photography, and while doing so, I photographed a few boudoir portraits for my brides. It wasn't long before their friends wanted similar images, and their friends, and so on. While photographing all of these women, I fell in love with discovering their beauty, creating a comfortable environment, and producing images that opened their eyes to the beautiful and unique indviduals they are. I opened my boudoir studio doors in 2009.
I approach boudoir sessions with the intent to not only capture sensual images, but capture your loveable quirks and personality too. I have a calming nature to make the session relaxing while also keeping the session enjoyable and fun.
I arrived in Seattle seven years ago and now call it home. I currently live in Ballard near my studio with my husband and two dogs - but I've lived in most of Seattle's neighborhood's at one time or another. I enjoy new experiences, I love good food, and I love to travel.
