Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule a session?
It’s super easy, you can book a session right now! Simply click the link below, choose a date for your session from our calendar, and follow the instructions to pay the deposit. You will receive a confirmation email with detailed information about what to expect, how to prepare and directions to our studio. I’ll reach out to you to set up a consultation and answer any questions you have!
What is the cost and what is included?
The session fee is $400 and includes makeup & hair, the use of our studio and wardrobe, and a 2 hour photo shoot. Prints, albums, and digital images are purchased separately. You can follow the link below to see our Product Catalog which includes detailed pricing for your options.
What is your style?
My boudoir work is artistic, fresh and inspired by you! Getting to know you through a pre-consultation and discussing what you want allows me to bring your vision to life. Some women gravitate towards my fine art black & white boudoir images, while others are drawn towards my contemporary sensual boudoir images. I will work to create the images you want! You can choose to either stick to a particular look throughout the session or I can create a mix of all of them — it’s up to you! Below are links to the photo galleries of each look I can create in the studio.
I am not the age/size I used to be, can you still get good photos of me?
Of course! The funny thing is, the women in my portfolios probably asked the exact same question before their session! I’m happy to say that I’ve photographed women into their 70’s and women beyond size 28, most who have never been in front of a pro’s camera before. I hope by looking at my portfolio that you’ll see beautiful women of all shapes, ages, and sizes. If you still don’t believe me, you can hear what clients have to say after their sessions below.
Where do the sessions take place?
I have created a large studio designed specifically for boudoir with large windows, beds, and sofas located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. You can read more about it below.
Can I come meet you and see the studio before our session?
Yes! Instead of a phone consultation, we can set up a time to meet at the studio for an in-person consultation prior to your session.
Who will be present during my session?
Just I, the photographer, will be there. You may also choose to bring a friend for moral support if you want!
Can my friends and I do sessions on the same day?
I focus and customize the boudoir experience to your individual needs so we don’t offer group sessions. However, you and one friend can schedule separate sessions the same day (if two times are available on the same day in the online calendar) and the timeline is restructured so that you can enjoy your sessions back-to-back.
Do you provide outfits? Or do I bring mine?
Yes and yes!
Our boudoir dressing room is packed full with tons of cute nighties, chemises, robes, 10+ styles of corsets/bustiers in sizes S-4XL, vintage clothing, accessories, props and jewelry that you are welcome to use if you want. You can see video and pictures below.
In addition, I encourage you to bring your own lingerie and wardrobe as well. This is great opportunity to go shopping right? We don’t have bra and panty sets so definitely bring a minimum of 1-2 sets with you. Check out our tips below for ideas on what to bring and local lingerie store recommendations.
I don’t know how to pose, will you help?
Absolutely! I give super easy-to-follow instructions and coach you from your facial expression down to the placement of your fingers. I WILL NOT say “look sexy” or “work the camera” or any other vague directions like that!
How long before I get to see the pictures?
The same day! After your session you’ll get to take a relaxing lunch/coffee break while your images are edited. When you return they will be ready to view!
How long does it take for the finished product to be ready after my session?
Your finished art work is delivered 3-4 weeks after the date of your session. If you need items sooner than that, we can deliver it to you in as little as 5-10 business days with a $100 rush fee. Additionally, you get to take a complimentary 4×6 print home with you!
I have cellulite/stretch marks/acne. Can you get rid of that?
The removal of acne, blemishes, bruises, scratches, stretchmarks, veins and cellulite is part of the retouching process and included in the cost of your purchase.
I am flying in from out of town, what hotel do you recommend?
Hotel Ballard and Ballard Inn are boutique hotels just a couple blocks from our studio. They in the middle of a multitude of cute shops, restaurants, and pubs so they are a fabulous place to stay!
How long does the session last?
The entire day from start to finish will be about 5-6 hours total. Hair and makeup lasts about 1.5 hours, the photo shoot itself is 2 hours, and then you get to take a 1 hour break for lunch/coffee while I edit your photos. When you return it takes about 1 hour to narrow down your absolute favorite pictures! You can view the link below for more information about the process and day of the session. Please note, if you and a friend are doing sessions on the same date, plan on the day lasting about 7-8 hours total.
I do not want to be displayed on your web site. Will my privacy be assured?
I take your privacy very seriously. I often work with school teachers, public figures, and professionals so I understand the importance of privacy. Everyone displayed on my website/blog/advertising were excited to give me written permission to do so.
Do you ever offer Groupon deals?
I have never offered a Groupon. Your session with us lasts a full day which ensures you are the focus of our attention. Our low volume, full service approach doesn’t work with well deal sites which attract hundreds of sessions over a short period of time.
That said, if you’re not already signed up, please join our newsletter below to hear about our exclusive seasonal special offers!
