Garter Belt Back in the day, when wearing hosiery was common, women held up their hose with a garter or garter belt. Garters are decorative elastic bands around each thigh to hold up stockings (you'll recognize these as the bridal garters). Garter belts are worn around the waist and have straps that attach to thigh high stockings on each leg. We have several styles of garter belts in black, red, and white.
