What To Expect
Preparation. Right after you schedule a session, you will get an email confirmation that contains loads of information on how to prepare for your session, what to bring, what to expect and directions/parking information.
Consultation. We’ll set up a time for our pre-session consultation. Chatting over the phone ahead of time helps me get to know you, answers any of your questions about boudoir, and helps me make it a truly customized experience.
Day Of The Session
Makeup and Hair. When you arrive at the studio, you are welcome to park directly in front of the entrance doors and come right in! Your professional makeup artist/stylist will be there ready to make you beautiful. Lashes and hair extensions are both included!
Session Planning. After hair and makeup, you’re invited to get comfortable and unpack in the dressing room. We will spend a good 10-15 minutes just selecting outfits, the style you want with each outfit, and the studio settings you want. You can select up to six outfit changes to use during the session. We will even arrange the jewelry, shoes and props (if any) you want with each outfit so we don’t forget anything. I have a full dressing room of corsets, nighties, and accessories to add to the mix as well! You will also have the opportunity to look at a portfolio book full of samples so I can get a solid sense of what imagery and style you like. You can also bring images with you to show me as well!
The Photo Shoot. We will start with the most comfortable clothing and simple poses and advance from there. Our sessions are two hours in length so be prepared to tighten your stomach, arch your back, and just have fun! I will give you super easy-to-follow posing directions so no prior experience in front of the camera is needed. We have speakers throughout the studio to play our favorite tunes to get you in the boudoir mood — or you can bring your own music. I promise that you will love the experience just as much as the photos!
Image Selection. After the photo session is over, you’re invited to take a one hour coffee/lunch break in Ballard. There are dozens of amazing coffee shops and restaurants just steps away! When you return your images will be edited/retouched and ready to view. I’ll show you a slideshow of all the pictures and then together we’ll narrow them down to your favorites that you wish to buy. Most people choose to purchase a photo album with multiple images, but we also have loose prints, canvas wall hangings, and specialty items that are popular add-ons. Before leaving the studio, you also get to choose a complimentary 4×6 print to take home with you!
Note: Your makeup/hair, photo shoot, and image selection process will last about 5-6 hours.
Production. The product(s) you order will undergo additional retouching, design work, and then into move to printing and production. You can anticipate delivery 3-4 weeks after your session.
